Who am I

I am an amateur photographer with a passion for analog photography who takes photos because I love it.

Why analog

I returned to analog photography because I missed the feeling and texture of the images — what emerges when light hits film and the chemistry starts. I shoot primarily with mechanical cameras as they don’t distract my attention for what actually matters: The subject in front of me.

How I work

I shoot primarily in 135 and medium format (120). Medium format has become a particular fascination — the quality and nuance in the images is something else. I shoot mostly in black and white because it sharpens the focus on the subject itself. Occasionally in colour, where I appreciate the way the film renders colours — not necessarily accurately, but with character.

what I photograph

Landscapes and urban environments are what I keep returning to. I am drawn to details, structures and the curious combinations you come across when you look around. I sometimes shoot street photography, but it is not my main focus.
